Shadows are something that can be very fascinating to the young mind. I can remember teaching a unit about shadows to a first grade class and how interested they were. They started noticing shadows EVERYWHERE and were simply amazed by them. Today we are going to show you how to create an easy shadow puppet theater to keep your little one(s) entertained for hours!
- Cardboard box
- White tissue paper
- Foam character stickers
- First, with adult supervision, use the scissors or knife to cut the top and bottom out of the cardboard box.
- Replace one of the cut out sides with two sheets of white tissue paper, using the tape to keep them in place.
- Next, use the tape to attach your foam characters to toothpicks to create your puppets.
- Finally place a flashlight in front of the open side of the box, turn off the lights, place your characters inside the box and put on a show!
