KIDS NIGHT IN BOX blog

Welcome to the

Score!

Sportsmanship is such a valuable lesson for little one(s) to learn. Cam (age 6) enjoyed this sportsmanship game more than I originally thought he would have. He loved deciding if the person was being a good or bad sport and putting the “basketballs” in the envelopes. This is a perfect game for our “Winners Never Quit” box theme because there isn’t a winner or loser. The game doesn’t necessarily have a winning objective, the kids are simply able to focus on playing rather than winning.

MATERIALS:

  • Two envelopes
  • Printable
  • Scissors
  • Markers

STEPS:

  1. First, print and cut out the “basketballs” from your printable.
  2. Next, label your two envelopes “Score!” and “Miss!” (Optional: draw basketball goals on either envelope).
  3. Finally, take time to read each scenario with your little one(s) and let them decide if the person is showing good sportsmanship or not. If they decide they are, let them place the basketball in the “Score!” envelope, if not, let them place it in the “Miss!” envelope.
