As usual, Kids Night In wanted to provide you with a fun snack to go along with March’s “Mission Space” theme. This snack was fun to make, fun to play with and fun to eat! Best of all, the mess was pretty contained. It’s a mix of healthy (fruit) and not so healthy (marshmallows) foods so it’s a win for parents and kiddos!
MATERIALS:
Strawberries
Big marshmallows
Cantaloupe
Bamboo skewers
Knife
STEPS:
Begin by cutting the stems off of the strawberries and slicing the strawberries horizontally into three pieces.
Place the bottom piece of the strawberry (the one shaped like a triangle) at the very top of your bamboo skewer.
Next, slide a marshmallow onto the skewer right below the strawberry piece.
Then, slide the middle strawberry slice onto the bamboo skewer, under the marshmallow.
Slide another marshmallow onto the skewer and then follow it with the final strawberry slice.
Finally, add a piece of cantaloupe to the end of the skewer to complete your rocket! Repeat these steps on another skewer and make as many fruit rockets as your heart desires.
