KIDS NIGHT IN BOX blog

Welcome to the

Cardboard City

How adorable is this cardboard city?! This was definitely a winner for us! It was super easy, cheap and mess-free to make AND the kiddos were obsessed. It also doubled as a recycling lesson by showing how we can reuse old items to make them into new creations! Hudson (age 2) is head over heels in love with cars right now and Faye (age 5) has been learning all about ways we can recycle, so this was a perfect activity for both of them!

MATERIALS:

  • Flattened cardboard box
  • Masking tape
  • Black marker
  • Toy cars
  • Blocks or other toys (optional)

STEPS:

  1. Lay your cardboard box down on the ground and have your little one(s) help you decide where the roads of their city will be. Then, make the roads using the masking tape and black marker.
  2. Add toy cars and other toys from your home to make the city come to life!
  3. Let your little one(s) name their city and encourage pretend play!
